Ali Mamdhooh is the eldest of three bright children born to Mr. Ibrahim Rasheed, a skilled mechanic, and Ms. Raufiyya Abdul Rahman, an inspirational Holy Quran teacher. Mamdhooh is recognized as one of the few individuals who believed that belonging to a small community doesn’t limit the extent of his dreams. He was born on the picturesque island of Vandhoo, located in the Tha. Atoll of Maldives, where he spent his early life with his family. During his childhood, he began experimenting with mechanical ideas inspired by his father’s work. Despite having very limited resources, most of which were discarded from machinery, Mamdhooh ingeniously created his own devices for practical purposes.
Television was introduced into his life at an early age, igniting his creative character. He not only learned the basics but also delved into advanced features associated with all television-related media accessories. Later, he ventured into video gaming, mastering arcade mode challenges with skill. Mamdhooh's fascination with operating satellite TV boxes led him to learn how to install dish antennas to capture strong satellite signals. With this knowledge, he successfully devised his wireless radio transmitter system, enhancing FM signal reception to enjoy songs broadcast by his friends on their home radios. In those days, the use of video cameras was unheard of in isolated rural islands like Vandhoo.
Middle Age:
His family relocated him to Tha. Thimarafushi, and Mamdhooh completed his 7th standard there, consistently ranking among the top students. His excellence continued when he moved to Male' city and enrolled in Majeedhiyya, one of the oldest and finest schools in the city. Here, he honed his artistic skills, excelling in art and showcasing his creativity. As a teenager, Mamdhooh produced masterpieces and eventually gained recognition as Maldives' first 3D artist, featured on National TV.
After completing his O levels, Mamdhooh faced the challenge of supporting his family's survival. To fulfill this responsibility, he joined the Army. And later he moved to Police Force, working as a fitness instructor. However, the demands of his job limited his ability to practice his various talents. Since then he decided to retire to open new doors of opportunities.
Professional Career:
Later, he and his cousins founded a traditional local cultural music band called Habeys Boduberu, rekindling his path to practice his talents. Mamdhooh also contributed his artistic skills to various social occasions. His street art gained fame in the capital of Maldives, and his 3D art was adored by many Maldivians. After forming Habeys Boduberu, Mamdhooh took the initiative to create the brand identity and handle all necessary marketing work. Since then, virtually every digital endeavor by Habeys has benefited from at least 99% of Mamdhooh's input. As the band's drummer, Mamdhooh played a pivotal role in transforming Habeys into the leading music entrepreneur in Maldives. His marketing prowess and forward-thinking ideas led to the incorporation of two more music bands under the Habeys brand. Additionally, he played various instruments and performed with the bands when needed. With Mamdhooh's multifaceted skills, Habeys' Facebook page became the very first locally verified music brand on Maldives' Facebook history. His efforts made Habeys the largest music brand in Maldives with the largest fan base in the nation's history.
While building this established music brand, Mamdhooh also honed his videography skills. Initially, he used his smartphone to create breathtaking videos that captivated audiences when he was still an amateur videographer. His videography journey began with a GoPro gifted by his wife, and he quickly developed his GoPro photography and videography skills, producing work comparable to that of professionals. Subsequently, he worked on different projects and created exceptional videography pieces using GoPro.
Mamdhooh is a self-taught creative professional whose work can rival that of global experts. One of his standout talents is his skill in controlling drones to capture stunning visuals, earning him a reputation as one of Maldives' premier drone pilots. He mastered the art of drone operation, having experience with all available DJI drones in Maldives and producing professional content for diverse clients. Mamdhooh was the first aerial videographer from Maldives to work on an international reality TV franchise, Maldivian Idol, elevating the brand and infusing a Maldivian essence into the concept.
In his professional career, while establishing Habeys as a music brand, Mamdhooh ventured into creating digital content for promotions across various digital platforms. This led him to experiment with various video equipment. He has produced numerous music videos, gig recordings, and travel documentaries for Habeys, some of which were broadcast internationally. One of his Music Video production done for Habeys was featured in Russian TV Channel Aadagio. This recognition propelled Mamdhooh to be recognized as one of the top video producers in Maldives, taking his career to new heights.
Mamdhooh is not only a creative artist but also a diver and underwater videographer. His underwater productions have garnered acclaim for their quality and finesse. Apnea is affiliated with major players in the Freedive industry, granting them the authority to distribute renowned brands worldwide, such as Dive-R Australia, Yazback, and Pelagic USA.
In just a few years, Mamdhuh had the opportunity to design a pair of fins for Dive-R Australia, known as the most luxurious high-end fins globally. His design quickly became one of the best-selling items at an exhibition held in Dubai, UAE, gaining significant attention and making headlines. Consequently, Mamdhuh started receiving offers from companies worldwide, prompting him to expand his design portfolio with international clients.
He also assumed the role of designer for the Saudi Arabian Freedive and Ocean brand, Monster, and established an affiliation with Long Breath Store in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This expansion marked a significant milestone in his career.

In 2020, he realized this dream by founding Blaze Fitness, a gym dedicated to helping individuals achieve their personal health, fitness, and lifestyle goals. Founded with his close friend Ahmed Sinan, who shared the same vision of contributing to the Maldivian community, Blaze Fitness offered top-notch facilities and services aided by innovative technologies. It provided an excellent environment for people to pursue their health and fitness aspirations. Mamdooh and Ahmed's passion for fitness led to the creation of Blaze as the first Maldivian Fitness Merchandise brand. Step by step, Blaze expanded to have its very own shop, BlazeShop. Currently, Mamdooh is diligently working on growing his fitness brand, BlazeGear.
